Living in Fountainhall

Fountainhall is ideally situated, set in woods, out of earshot and sight from the A7, the village is halfway between Edinburgh and Galashiels, in the heart of countryside. There is a busy village hall, and a well-run country primary school.

You can explore the Border towns or it is perfect for walking, cycling, riding and a healthy outdoor lifestyle. There are many attractions and things to do in the Borders from Common Ridings to ruined Abbeys, Stately Homes and the Southern Upland Way. Add to that the convenience of the Edinburgh City Bypass, just twenty minutes drive, two Borders Railway stations just ten minutes away (from 2015, at Stow and Gorebridge) Fountainhall is ideal for a relaxed commute north or south.

There is wide range of village services, from traditional doorstep milk and groceries, to supermarket deliveries. There are many organised events locally in cooperation with church and community groups in Stow and Heriot.
