Living in Aberdour

Aberdour itself has a thriving community and is a well-known coastal village which lies on the shores of the Firth of Forth, with two beaches and within moments walking distance of all local amenities including local shops, the train station, and local primary school.

In addition to the beaches, the leisure and recreational facilities include a golf course, historic Scotland castle and boating club all near at hand. Aberdour also boasts an active community, with a local festival in July and August.

The area has regular bus services and rail link (including park and ride) which make for ease of commuting in and around the surrounding area and directly into Edinburgh City Centre (car 35 minutes). Aberdour Castle is the oldest stone castle in Scotland and the Church dates from the 12th Century.
