Living in Joppa
Joppa is a highly desirable residential area, lying between Portobello and Musselburgh, both of which provide excellent shopping centres well able to supply most daily requirements. For more comprehensive shopping, there is a Tesco supermarket in Musselburgh and an Asda superstore just off Milton Road, as well as the extended retail park of Fort Kinnaird.
Schools ranging from nursery through to secondary levels are also conveniently located. Loretto Private School is within close proximity along with Portobello High School and Towerbank and St Johns RC primary schools.
There is a choice of buses travelling along either Milton Road or Joppa Road, taking you into the City centre in approximately twenty minutes. For those who have to travel further afield, the nearest access point to the Musselburgh Bypass is only a few minutes away. This in turn links up to the City ring-route taking you to all parts of Edinburgh and beyond very quickly.
In the other direction, through Musselburgh, lies East Lothian with its many golf courses and sandy beaches. The county town of Haddington, along with the seaside towns of North Berwick and Dunbar are all within easy reach.
