Living in Howgate
Howgate is a charming historic conservation village which lies between the Pentland and Moorfoot Hills. The area has easy access to the city centre and major road networks.
Penicuik is the nearest large town, just under two miles from Howgate, and provides superb local amenities including local shops and supermarkets, leisure facilities, primary and secondary schools (with school bus service) and health centres.
Much of the focus of the village surrounds the village hall which has many community events throughout the year. The Howgate Inn has built up an enviable reputation throughout the years as a fine eatery and hostelry.
