Living in Hillside
Hillside lies approximately half a mile east of Princes Street. Within the immediate locality on Leith Walk and Easter Road are an excellent variety of individual and specialist shops catering for most requirements together with Banking and Post Office facilities.
The St James Centre, the designer shops at Multrees Walk, Harvey Nichols and the many shops and department stores on Princes Street are all within a ten/fifteen walk.
From nearby London Road and from Leith Walk there is a regular bus service to Princes Street, the West End and many other parts of the city. Leisure facilities in the area include the Playhouse Theatre which hosts many international shows and the Omni Centre with numerous bars, restaurants and multi screen cinema. The area is also conveniently situated for access to the Scottish Parliament.
