Craiglockhart is a desirable residential area, approximately three miles south west of the city centre, and with easy access to the city bypass. There are good public transport services to the city centre and surrounding areas and a train station at nearby Slateford.
The area has a good choice of primary and secondary schools together with a variety of local shopping facilities with further shopping facilities available at nearby Colinton.
The area boasts some attractive walks along the canal and there is a good choice of recreational facilities in the area.
