As a local business, our team all live in the area and have exceptional local knowledge, enabling us to understand your requirements and your property needs, guaranteeing you a bespoke service.

This month our focus is Gorebridge, a former mining village in Midlothian that has a great community spirit.

Angela Laird, our Property Manager, has lived in Gorebridge for over forty years so she really does know it inside-out. She  loves the village vibe of Gorebridge and believes that the sense of community is strong, welcoming new people into the village, which in turn helps keep amenities going from strength to strength.

She says “Gorebridge is surrounded by stunning countryside, offering countless walks in the beautiful surroundings. We have lots of leisure facilities with local leisure centres offering fitness classes and also a good range of local amenities. The area benefits from a regular public transport service operating to the city centre and neighbouring Midlothian towns and villages, and the Edinburgh City by-pass is only a short drive away with direct links heading west to Glasgow, north over the Forth Road Bridge and eastward and beyond. We also are very excited and proud we now have the new borders rail link which takes us swiftly into Edinburgh.

Both my (now adult) children attended the primary and secondary school which I found great, and my granddaughter also now attends the local primary school and absolutely loves it. With the village expanding so have the schools, and we have newly built schools at both primary and secondary level which offer state of the art facilities.”

With such close proximity and good transport links to the centre of Edinburgh, Gorebridge offers the best of both worlds – access to the buzz the city brings for business, and the contrasting quiet, peaceful and tranquilness when returning home after a busy day.
